Who Remembers the Palestinians? now in The Funambulist magazine

I got to meet a brilliant and wonderful Armenian woman, Garine Boghossian, because of the internet again today. Please read Garine Boghossian’s “Monte Melkonian, Comrade in Struggles” in the Paris-based magazine The Funambulist Magazine. This is a really important issue on the Black Atlantic, chattel slavery, dispossession, etc. so please check out the issue.

to my surprise my poem “Who Remembers the Palestinians?” alongside the original “Who Remembers the Armenians?” by Palestinian poet Najwan Darwish was included in this brilliant and urgent piece out now on Monte Melkonian’s leftism. So much of Monte’s legacy continues to be omitted and one central piece is how he stood with the oppressed people of the world, actively understood the Armenian struggle in a global context, and challenged power, racism and colonialism from multiple positions. Even though his legacy is complicated, they are trying to revise history without his leftism. They are doing it on purpose. Thank you to Garine for this important piece
